The purpose of that visit was to start the Clinton’s seven year program known as the CHAI, which consists of a collaborative partnership with some of the top schools in the USA including Duke University, University of Illinois Chicago and Howard University just to name a few. The vision behind CHAI is that each year 100 American faculty members will spend one year in Rwanda working with medical personnel to transfer training capacity.
